Mesothelioma: The Case of Pensacola, Florida – History
Pensacola is the original capital of Florida and the first European settlement in the United States. Many early building developments were made in the city, for example, the first United States Naval Air Station. The city was the ideal location for the air station as the Pensacola Bay gives access and connection to the Gulf of Mexico.
Pensacola was dubbed the city of five flags, as a result of the five different governments that had flown their flags in the city throughout history. The governments were Spain, France, Great Britain, The Confederation and the United States.
