A native of Houston, Texas, Chris Mathena has lived in Tampa, Florida since 2010. In 2004, he graduated from the University of Texas at Austin, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Marketing. Chris earned his Juris Doctorate (J.D.) in 2009 from South Texas College of Law Houston.
During law school, Chris was a member of the nationally recognized South Texas moot court and mock trial competition teams. He was also an associate editor of the Corporate Counsel Review and a graduate of the Frank Evans Center for Conflict Resolution.
Outside of class, Chris worked as judicial intern for the Honorable Sharolyn Wood, and clerked for Ostendorf Tate Barnett, an insurance defense firm.
After moving to Florida, Chris clerked in matters of civil and employment litigation, served as support for eminent domain litigation, and worked in commercial real estate development. In 2015, Chris opened his own office, focusing on civil litigation and business consultation, and became General Counsel for a large energy equipment manufacturer in Mulberry, Florida.
Chris is licensed to practice law in the State of Florida. He is a member of the Florida Bar Association and the Hillsborough County Bar Association. At Vinson Law P.A., Chris zealously represents his clients in matters of personal injury, automobile collision, premises liability, and nursing home negligence and abuse.
In his free time, Chris enjoys golf, cooking, cheering on his Texas Longhorns, and spending time with his wife, Angelique, and their son, Wiley.
